Very early this morning (July 20) around 3 am, Tyler police officers responded to an aggravated assault call on McDonald Road in Tyler.

According to a press release from Patrol Sergeant Chad Homer of the Tyler Police Department, officers arrived on scene to find multiple rounds fired into the residence - indicated by bullet holes in the window.

It was then discovered that a 13-year-old boy was struck in the leg during the shooting. He has since been transported to a hospital by local Emergency Medical Services. This is currently an active investigation according to Tyler detectives and it is strongly urged that anyone with information regarding this case should please contact Tyler PD at 903-531-1000.
