2012 Miracle Child Will Light The City Of Tyler’s Christmas Tree Tomorrow Night
Finally cooler temperatures have arrived in East Texas making it feel more like fall and the holidays, we just hope they stick around for a while. Those temps arrived just in time for the lighting of the City of Tyler's Christmas tree tomorrow night. The 26 foot Leyland Cypress was donated by Merket Christmas Tree Farm in Beckville and stands proudly on the T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza in downtown Tyler.
Before the tree is lit by this year's Children's Miracle Network Miracle Child, Daniela Guzzetta, you can catch the Tyler Jaycees Christmas Parade as it makes its way from the Salvation Army building on N. Broadway to downtown and around the square. The parade will feature floats from many area civic groups and organizations, bands, cheerleaders, and special dignitaries along with the arrival of Santa Claus on top of the City Of Tyler Fire Department's ladder truck. After the parade, Daniela will throw the switch on the city's Christmas tree and will light up more than 9600 lights. The East Texas Christian Jazz Band will also be performing at the tree lighting along with a performance from Artistic Dance Concepts.
If you're looking for more holiday parades and activities, Jen Austin wrote about more parades around East Texas and I've gathered a great list of drive thru Christmas light parks you can check out with the family.
