Who doesn't love a hot delicious bite of chili? Your opportunity to find the best is coming up with the Rose City Chili Pod on the first Saturday in March.

The 35th Ever Rose City Chili Cookoff has been scheduled for Saturady, March 5th at Gander Mountain in Tyler. Chili Charity and Fun is what it's all about.

Proceeds raised at Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) Cookoffs go to benefit local charities. This year's charity of choice is Ragan's Hope. They help parents of children with serious ongoing medical conditions or injuries endure the initial impact and embrace the future. Their vision is to help parents and communities lift up children who have seemingly insurmountable obstacles to rise up, meet their challenges, and live extraordinary lives.

Those who wish to enter the competition can participate in muitiple events including Showmanship, Beans, Junior Chili (for kids 7-17) and Local Chili. Local, or Open, will compete for the People's Choice Award.

Those who compete in the Local/Open chili do not have to adhere to CASI chili rules, but must bring a minimum of 2 gallons of their chili to serve samples to the public.

For more information about participating in the Cookoff, contact Blu Monday-Daniels – 903-372-2818 or blondefilly@wb4me.com.
