High School football is truly king in Texas.

A $220 million bond passed by voters of McKinney will include $50.3 million to build a new football stadium and events center for McKinney ISD according the Dallas Morning News.

Now, before you think "Why does one school need this?", the proposed stadium will be home to three High Schools in McKinney ISD.

The current stadium was built in 1962 but, with McKinney one of the fastest growing districts in Texas according to the Tyler Morning Telegraph, the stadium is no longer viable. The new stadium will be built northwest of Central Expressway and State Highway 121.
