"Green Acres is the place for me. Farm livin' is the life for me." I loved watching all the silly characters from Hooterville on  the sitcom "Green Acres." So, I hated to hear about the passing this weekend of actor Frank Cady, who played Sam Drucker, the general store owner in Hooterville. Frank Cady passed away yesterday at the age of 96. He was at his home in Wilsonville, Ore., surrounded by his family.

Like Mr. Haney, Eb Dawson, Hank Kimball and Arnold the Pig,  Sam Drucker was a supporting cast member on  "Green Acres" to lawyer Oliver Wendell Douglas and his socialite wife, Lisa, from Manhattan, played by Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor. The couple left the high life in New York City for the simple life of a farm in Hooterville.

"Green Acres" was  The sitcom ran from 1965 to 1971. Frank Cady also played the same character in the sitcoms  "Petticoat Junction" and "The Beverly Hillbillies." He also had a recurring role as Doc Williams on "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet."

These great sitcoms were from a simpler and innocent time, and I miss them. Although when the girls pop up from the water tower in the opening of "Petticoat Junction" you know they are taking a bath! A little risque maybe?

Of course I catch the shows every now and then on TV Land, but it's not the same. Maybe because I'm older. Boy lately I've been going down my childhood "memory lane." It's tough getting old!

I know a lot you enjoyed these sitcom , so I thought I would give a walk down "memory lane" too.
