It's already been a couple months since Macy's announced its Tyler store would be among those closing down & my wife is still trying to cope with that news!  Every single time we drive down Broadway she makes another comment about it.

I hated to even mention J.C. Penney taking similar steps when that news broke a few weeks back.  Every few days since I get asked if there's been any official word on the fate of their Broadway Square location.  The answer is "no", so far- Lubbock's South Plains Mall is the only Texas Penney location confirmed to be shutting down at this point.

Unfortunately, there IS another Broadway Square Mall retailer about to lock the doors for good.

As the Tyler Morning Telegraph reports, women's clothing outlet Vanity has revealed that's it's filing for bankruptcy after 50 years in business.  All 150 of its stores across the country will cease operations, & the Tyler staff has been told their jobs will be gone within the next 4-6 weeks.

Vanity is even suspending online sales, a step not taken by the other national chains closing physical retail facilities.  Broadway Square's on the wrong kind of roll, as their former teen clothier Wet Seal also went under not too long ago.
