Tyler police responded to 13th Step Tattoo business, 2119 E. Fifth St., around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday,on a report of a pedestrian hit-and-run assault.

Officers were told the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Roderick Lattrete Brazzle, of Longview, had met a female friend at the tattoo business around 1:45 a.m. to assist her with getting a tattoo.

Brazzle and the owner of the business then got into an argument while discussing the details of the tattoo.  Brazzle and the owner, as 31-year-old Herman Boles, stepped outside the business where Boles pushed Brazzle and told him to leave the business. Brazzle got into his Hummer H3 and drove it toward Boles and two other people standing in front of the business. Brazzle struck three victims and ran into the front of the business causing damage to the building.

The victims were Boles, 26-year-old Brandi Baker, and 24-year-old Fransico Car. Baker and Carrillo were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police located Brazzle at Loop 323 and Highway East in his vehicle shortly after the incident. Brazzle was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Brazzle was transported to Smith County Jail and booked.
