Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert Working on New Music With John Fogerty
Rocker and former Creedence Clearwater Revival member John Fogerty recently announced that he’s been working on a new record for the past few months with several superstar guests, including Brad Paisley, East Texas' own Miranda Lambert and the Foo Fighters. Though the album doesn’t yet have an official release date, Fogerty is set to tour this year, hitting Australia and New Zealand and potentially adding a North American leg of the tour at a later date.

Keith Urban has won Grammys, toured the globe and released more hit singles than he can count on two hands, but there’s one thing the country megastar had never done — until now, that is. For the first time in his career, Urban took on the challenge of writing and releasing a song specifically for a movie. Collaborating with hit songwriter Monty Powell, he co-wrote the a song called ‘For You’ for the Navy SEAL action thriller ‘Act of Valor,’ in theaters Feb. 24.

Ronnie Dunn made quite a lasting impression at his ‘Green Nights’ benefit concert Saturday night at Nashville’s historic Franklin Theatre. After more than 90 shows in Europe and South America performing as the lead singer of Journey, Filipino rocker Arnel Pineda recently told ABS-CBN morning show Kris TV that the American rock band is about to take a step toward a country collaboration. According to LazyRocker.com, Pineda said that Journey have plans in 2012 to perform with Rascal Flatts for ‘CMT Crossroads.’

In the early fall of 2010, Tim McGraw submitted his final version of a new record called ‘Emotional Traffic’ to Curb Records. The first single, ‘Felt Good on My Lips,’ dropped soon after, but no word came out about an album release date. Then, just hours after a court ruled this week (Nov. 30) that McGraw was free to sign with another label, Curb let the second single, ‘Better Than I Used to Be,’ hit the airwaves almost a year after the first single was released — and now they’ve announced a release date for the full album.

The latest development in the Mindy McCready saga is that her ex-boyfriend, Billy McKnight — who is also the father of her missing son Zander — spoke with the ‘Today’ show about McCready’s past, their son and his recent communication with both of them. Though there is no warrant out for McCready’s arrest, a judge did issue an ‘emergency’ order on Thursday to have the boy brought back to Florida, regardless of what state he’s currently in.

The plot continues to thicken in the saga of country singer Mindy McCready, who went missing with her son Zander this week and now turns out to be seven months pregnant with twins. Though McCready insists she didn’t kidnap her 5-year-old son, it has been widely reported that she took him from her father’s Florida home Tuesday and doesn’t have legal custody of him.
