Potential Local Phone Scam In East Texas
The Smith County Sheriff’s Office contacted us today with details on a potential phone scam going on in East Texas.
Someone contacted a local business this morning stating they were representing the Sheriff’s Department, Fraternal Order of Police, and Texas Department of Public Safety soliciting donations for a Blue Santa event to take place December 17th.

Longview Police Search For Bank Robbery Suspect
Today at 10:40 a.m. Longview police officers responded to a bank alarm in the 3100 Block of H G Moseley Parkway. When officers arrived bank employees told officers a white male possibly in his 30’s, wearing blue jeans, navy or black jacket, dark ball cap, and small rimmed glasses walked into the bank. The suspect walked up to the teller window and handed the teller a note. He also showed the teller he had a semi-automatic handgun. The teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then left the bank in an unknown direction.

It’s been called by some the greatest high school football game in history – the 1994 John Tyler Lions vs. the Plano East Panthers. After watching the video I think you will agree. For those of you who have never seen this video – get ready. It’s John Tyler and Plano East at the old Texas Stadium during the 1994 playoffs. John Tyler had the game in hand – the Region II semifinal in class 5A Division II. What happens in the final three minutes of the game is beyond words.

Tenative Deal Ends NBA Lockout
NBA players and owners reached a tentative agreement this morning that will allow for a 66 game NBA season. After a 15 hour meeting yesterday that ended with a handshake, an agreement was struck that puts the start of the NBA season on Christmas day.

Cowboys Jason Witten Tackles Cheerleader [VIDEO]
The debate at my family’s house over Thanksgiving dinner was if the Dallas Cowboys Jason Witten intentionally tackled a cheerleader during their Thanksgiving day game against the Miami Dolphins. I was unsure at first, but after watching this slow-mo instant replay that someone posted on Youtube, I’m pretty sure it was intentional! I mean, who can really blame him, but don’t make it so obvious!
