Have you always wondered what it would feel like to wear and antebellum dress complete with a hoop skirt? If you're a local high school student, you might have that chance.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 18, and the applications are open to young women who are freshman and sophomore high school students residing in Smith County. Young ladies may pick up an application in their high school counselor's office, or find it online at visittyler.com.

Young ladies who are interested must be academically eligible and willing to attend training and events. They must also be available to help promote Tyler, greet tourists and take photos at certain events throughout the Azalea and Spring Flower Trail weekends. The 57th annual event will take place place in the Downtown Azalea District from March 25 to April 10.

Belles typically work for a few hours on a Saturday morning or afternoon, and sometimes Sunday mornings. Dresses are provided by Visit Tyler. For more information contact Susan Travis with Visit Tyler at stravis@tylertexas.com or call 903-592-6978.
