[BREAKING] Suspect Captured in Tyler Bank Robbery [UPDATED]

TYLER – Police say a person has been arrested in connection with today’s robbery of the Regions Bank located on SSE Loop 323 in Tyler.

Vanessa Ashford, 37, was taken into custody after police stopped her car at University Drive in Tyler. Bank employees were able to give police a partial license number and description of her vehicle.

Police also recovered a large knife inside the suspect’s car; the weapon believed used during the hold-up.

Police are also looking into the possibility that Ashford may have been involved in last month’s bank robbery of the Telco Plus Credit Union.

No customers were inside the bank at the time of the robbery.
