The Best Golf Courses in Tyler + Longview to Try Out

Golfing has been a great pastime for for many years. For sport, fun, business, or relaxation, playing golf is an important part of our East Texas society. If you are new to the game, or looking for a new course to hit, where do you go around here? Well, there are a lot of places to try out.

Here is a list of great courses right around the corner in the Tyler and Longview area.

Pine Springs

Pine Springs Golf Course is a great place to have a round. They are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. Texas Outside gave them a 7.5 for "fun to play" and a 7.0 for "greens difficulty." With beautiful scenery, Pine Springs should be one of your East Texas golf choices.

Willow Brook Country Club

Willow Brook Country Club is a great place to visit. They have an amazing golf course that holds a lot of memories from past golf greats' performances there and the numerous tournaments held of the grounds. With a course rating of 72.1, this could be a fantastic place for you to hit the green. Open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday.

The Cascades

The Cascades is a dream come true for the World War II veterans that designed and built the course. Seen by some as the "finest golf club" in East Texas, the Cascades golf course has hosted the Texas Open for six straight years. This is a wonderful place to play all 18 holes. This is definitely a place not to over look.

Hollytree Country Club

Nestled in south Tyler, this little oasis is a great place for some golf. Hollytree Country Club having once been awarded "Best Golf Course" in the Best of East Texas Reader's Choice Awards, these 18 holes have a lot to offer. Trees, water ways, and plenty of other handicaps, this course as much fun as it is difficult. Come see for yourself Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and then Sundays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. that evening.

Longview Country Club

The Longview Country Club has a self proclaimed "old school course" that offers an awesome golfing experience. Originally opened in the 1920's, this green has a lot of history. Don't miss out of this great East Texas course.

The Challenge at Oak Forest

The Challenge at Oak Forest country club offers not just a great course, but a variety of golf lessons too. Tee times can be scheduled for this magnificent course all days of the week, except Mondays. This course follows the natural landscape of the area by winding Grace and Ray creeks in Longview. Come experience this fabulous green.

Alpine Target Golf Center

The Alpine Target golf course offers a par-3, nine hole course that is sure to delight. Every skill level will have fun and enjoy their round of a great game of golf on this Longview course. They also offer a children's golf instruction course called, 'The First Tee.' Make it out to this great course between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. all seven days of the week.

Wood Hollow Golf Club

Wood Hollow Golf Club is a great East Texas course. This modest but amazing course can offer you the opportunity to get what one golf course critic called, "career-low rounds." Offering both a 18 hole course and a driving range, this spot appeals to all skill levels. Come out and enjoy a relaxed and fun course just right down the street from your home.
