Biggest Ride Ever Coming to East Texas State Fair in September

If you’re a thrill ride enthusiast, then you’re going to want to visit the 2017 East Texas State Fair between September 22 and October 1. Just make sure you eat your funnel cake AFTER this ride. The newest addition to ETX State Fair is a thrill ride to say the least - The Sling Shot - will stretch you like a rubber band and thrust you into the air to extreme heights (150 feet!) at intense speeds. In fact, you’ll feel 3-to-5 g’s of force as you’re launched into the sky.

So if you like the idea of basically being a human-sized pebble in a gargantuan rubber band, then this ride is for you. And if you don’t, you should ride it anyway so you can brag to your friends who were too scared to join you.

Cody Rosenbalm, spokesperson for the fair, told us that this ride will not disappoint.

We are really excited to introduce The Sling Shot because it’s such an 'once-in-a-lifetime' experience. You can watch videos of this ride online and almost feel the adrenaline yourself. You just have to ride it.

The ride is affectionately nicknamed “The Vomit Rocket” and “The Ejection Seat” and luckily, you don’t have to ride it alone. The ride accommodates two riders in a capsule that is attached to cables and a spring propulsion device. It’s the highest elevation you can reach at the East Texas State Fair, and we hear the view will be sensational.

The Slingshot will cost $25 per person to ride and will be available during regular carnival hours: Weekends from 12:00pm – 11:00pm and on weekdays from 4:00pm – 11:00pm.
