Billy Crystal To Host the Oscars for the Ninth Time
When Eddie Murphy quit his upcoming Oscar hosting gig on Wednesday, producers were left with very little time to find a replacement and have reportedly turned to Billy Crystal, once again.
Crystal tweeted the news with his usual humor on Thursday afternoon, saying:
“Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show.”
There’s been no official announcement yet from either his reps or those from the Oscars, but assuming we’re not being Punked with another Andy-Rooney-college-roommate-type scenario, this will be Crystal’s ninth time emceeing the show.
