Evacuations are underway after a Code Maroon indicating a bomb threat  was issued at 11:34 a.m. Friday on the Texas A&M campus

"Code Maroon: Bomb threat received for campus in general. Evacuate campus by foot immediately. Do not use a vehicle."

Later, people on the main campus were asked to go north to Church Street or south to Anderson Street.

Texas A&M spokesman Lane Stephenson says the the school received a call about the bomb threat at about 11:30 a.m. He didn't immediately have any other information about the threat.

The school says all classes were canceled and the evacuation will remain in effect until further notice.
