Carnival Cruise Lines is trying to recover after the recent major disaster aboard one of its newest and most popular ships, The Triumph. The company has taken an aggressive approach to this by offering cabins as low as $38 per night.

Passengers can now sail aboard the Triumph to the Bahamas for the low rate of $38 per night for an interior stateroom that includes meals and some beverages. When you do a quick price comparison, that rate is lower than a stay at your Motel 6 according to online ad prices and MSN Money.

The company has deeply discounted the price of this cruise ship and is offering this deal after the ship suffered an engine fire while at sea in February and stranding thousands of passengers.

The company is seeing early signs of success with the discount strategy, but will not make specific comments on their bookings. After all, an empty ship doesn't bring the company any revenue and selling them at bargain basement prices just might help them recover and do some reimaging for the cruise lines.
