Carrie Underwood Had Some Competition Before She Was Chosen to Sing ‘Sunday Night Football’ Theme [VIDEO]

Carrie Underwood had some pretty stiff competition before she finally landed the job singing the "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night" theme for NBC's Sunday Night Football.Carrie had to beat out celebrities like super model Heidi Klum, comedian Joan Rivers, and others whoparticipated in open auditions.

Carrie Underwood ultimately got the job and her performance features appearances by the Arizona Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald, Denver Broncos' Peyton Manning, Dallas Cowboys' DeMarcus Ware (shout out DeMarcus!), and 10 other NFL players. The SNF season begins when Dallas hosts the New York Giants on Sept. 8.
