Cross Canadian Ragweed was the most influential and popular band to ever come out of the Red Dirt scene, we all know this to be true. But unfortunately something else we all know to be true, all good things must come to an end -- Ragweed saw there's in late 2010. It wasn't long, though, before former members, Cody Canada and Jeremy Plato teamed up with Dave Bowen, Seth James, and Steve Littleton to form a new band, The Departed. Ryan Beaver has written some great songs, and it's so good to see radio finally taking notice. Not only did the Beav co-write Kyle Park's first two Top 10, and latest singles "Make or Break Me" and "Leavin' Stephenville," he wrote his own, most recent single "Hate" which climbed all the way to No. 2 in Texas earlier this year.

Even though you may not know his name, Brian Keane has definitely made an impact in the Texas Music scene. Keane was a founding member of the Band Of Heathens, and more recently, he was a member of the Randy Rogers Band. In between he co-wrote the 2009 Americana Song of the Year and saw his own debut single, "I'll Sing About Mine," go all the way to No. 2 on the Texas charts last year.
