KLTV 7 Meteorologist Grant Dade says we have a good chance of seeing more of what we did this morning through a good part of the week. This morning (Jan. 14) a mixture of rain, sleet and snow was reported across most of East Texas as a disturbance moved into the area. It contained just enough moisture to squeeze out the light precipitation we saw this morning. Grant says more of the same can be expected though Thursday!

Hurricane Sandy has caused the most destruction to the north east that anyone has ever seen. Some of the most popular cities in the country are deserted. There is no one in sight, no lights to be seen for miles. It's desolate and devastating. As if the storm and flooding wasn't bad enough, there are almost a million people without power. One man was filming the flood and the storm, and happened to catch the moment the brightest city in the country went black.
Hurricane Sandy crashed into the east coast on Monday night, and Trace Adkins was among a handful of country singers trying to stay safe in the Big Apple. Chely Wright and Billy Ray Cyrus also took to Twitter to describe what was happening as the 100-year storm flooded the New Jersey and New York coastline.

The weather in Tyler is just fine, so it's hard to imagine exactly how bad it is right now on the East Coast as Hurricane Sandy makes her way into New York and New Jersey. There are blizzard warnings in places like West Virginia, because Sandy is mixing with a winter storm there, and meteorologists say that's the first time in history a storm like that has been created - hurricane meets winter storm. The American Red Cross says there are blood drives up and down the Eastern Seaboard that are being cancelled because of Hurricane Sandy, and they're advising those of us in areas that are unaffected by the hurricane to donate if we're able.
