School is almost out and summer is upon us. Even though this year's winter did not feel much like winter, fun and relaxing times on the beach or at the lake are about to begin.

Yeah, that was our one cold snap.

With Memorial Day designated as the "Official Start of Summer", we should celebrate with some fireworks. Smith County Commissioners are considering approving the sale of fireworks for use on the holiday weekend according to the Tyler Morning Telegraph.

The only restrictions would be if a burn ban is in effect and fireworks cannot be used inside the city limits.

Here's to enjoying the lake, BBQ's and hopefully some "ohhh's" and "ahhh's" as we ring a new season.
