I ran across this article and had to roll my eyes. Not because of the religious tone, but because I wish, as Christians, that we would stop trying to predict the end of times.

A story at fox4news.com says a Christian numerologist, which is a group I have never heard of, David Meade has said that the world will come to an end this Saturday, September 23.

Here's where it gets really skeptical to me.

He says another planet will collide with Earth.

He uses a couple of Bible verses as the basis of his theory, Luke chapter 21, verses 25 and 26, which read:

25: There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

26: Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Meade also says the September 23rd date is referenced using other codes in the Bible and a "date maker" in pyramids located in Giza in Egypt.

There are references to planetary alignments and astrology.

I am no Bible scholar but here is what I do know. As a Christian who has read the Bible, I know that there is no knowledge as to the exact date of the end of times when Jesus returns to the Earth and the rapture begins.

While the above mentioned verses do give some general signs, there are also these verses to look into as well.

Mark chapter 13, verse 32:

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

1 Thessalonians chapter 5, verse 2

For you are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

There are signs to look for as shown in Matthew chapter 24, verses 6 & 7.

6: And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

In other words, we don't know and do not need to know. The end will not come on our time. Live your life accordingly.
