Are Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban the best of the best in country music in 2014?

They've been chosen as CMT's Artists of the Year.

The fiver superstars will be honored during a live special on Dec. 2, which will include performances as well as celebrations of each artist's accomplishments in the past year. Of course, it will be broadcast from Music City.

For most of the honorees, this honor is nothing new. Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Lambert have all been named Artists of the Year before. And Aldean has been named one of the top artists since the awards were created back in 2010! Urban is the only first-timer in the group -- this is his first year being named an Artist of the Year, but after the 2014 he's had, it's no surprise.

“Country music has never been bigger, and these five are its biggest stars of 2014," John Hamlin, the SVP of Music Events and Talent at CMT explains in a release. “We do everything we can do to make sure this is the party of the year for them. And rightfully so. They’ve earned it.”

In the last year, the winners of this award have shown their influence on country music in a variety of ways. From being highly successful on country radio to topping the charts with their albums, they have earned their way to podium. It doesn't hurt that these artists have also had massive, sell-out tours.

The 'CMT Artists of the Year' special will air live on Dec. 2 at 8PM ET.
