Cole Swindell has a special gig coming up: The country singer will be judging this year's Miss America competition.

Like his pal Brett Eldredge did last year, Swindell will sit on the judging panel at 2016's Miss America competition, set to be held on Sept. 11 in Atlantic City, N.J. At the event, Swindell and his fellow judges will help crown Miss America 2017.

"I'm so excited to be a judge at this year’s competition," Swindell tells People. "Knowing how hard the contestants must work to get there, I'm looking forward to helping one of them become Miss America!"

His Miss America judging gig is the cherry on top of what has been a very successful year for Swindell, who admits that he's very much enjoying how his country music career has taken off.

“I’m doing my dream job right now. I get to do what I love every night,” Swindell says. “When somebody tells me, ‘You look like you were having fun up there,’ I’m like, ‘No s–t.’ No matter how the day’s going, when I get on the stage, it makes it all alright.”

Swindell released his most recent single, "Middle of a Memory," in May. The song, from his most recent album, You Should Be Here, follows his five consecutive No. 1 songs, including the album's title track. You Should Be Here is available for download on iTunes.
