Well I guess teaming up with Jamie Johnson is bound to increase anyone's credibilty --and Southern country rapper Colt Ford who has recorded songs with many talented country singers from John Michael Montgomery and Brantley Gilbert to Texas native Kevin Fowler is no exception.

Colt Ford is definitely not everyone's cup o' tea but I'll tell you something, I know first hand from the ridiculous number of requests I get for him, there are plenty of people who really love his music and I am definitely not one to discriminate.

In fact to let you in on a little secret I am actually a fan of the hip hop music and even though Colt Ford wouldn't be at the top of any of my lists you've got to admire someone who's doing what he loves and experiencing the level of success he is, like Ford says at tasteof country.com there is a place for everyone in music.

Of course not everybody is going to like it, but not everybody likes Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift, either. That’s what makes music great, you know, there’s room for everything. I mean, we need George Strait, but we need Jamey Johnson too. We need Taylor Swift — hopefully we need a little Colt Ford.

So best of luck to Jamie Johnson and Colt Ford on their ACM nom for Vocal Event of The Year for 'Cold Beer' click here to preview 'Cold Beer'.

I'm gonna leave you guys with the Colt Ford/Kevin Fowler colabo 'Hip Hop In A Honky Tonk' and as everyone collectively groans, just give it a chance --maybe Colt Ford is your cup o' tea and you didn't even know it.
