Last week on Radio Texas Live I was proud to welcome Country For Our Country committee members: Deputy Commander of The Texas Army National Guard General ‘Red’ Brown, title sponsor of the event Tyler Ford‘s David Irwin and local wounded warrior and hero Andy Burnett.  To hear the first three segments of our interview click here.

In the next segment David Irwin explained how the VIP style table seating will work this year, the first year they are doing it this way.

Country for our Country returns to Vila Di Felicita, in Tyler on September 24, 2011.  The local, annual event was started in 2009 by a group of East Texas business owners with the help of General Brown and many other local community and business members.

General Brown wanted to stress that Country For Our Country is an organization that strictly benefits wounded East Texas warriors. And Specialist Andy Burnett shares how much of an impact the organization has had on him.

The goal from the beginning of Country for our Country has been to raise support for East Texas wounded warriors, warriors like Andy that have put their lives in harm’s way in support of our freedoms and provide them an avenue to succeed upon their return to East Texas from often times long tours and grueling conditions in combat zones like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Here General Brown gives a brief background of Country For Our Country and how the owners of Villa Di Felicita, Mary and Paul Pennington wanted to give back to our service men and women, and especially the ones from right here in East Texas.

This year we welcome Country Music superstar Sara Evans, perennial favorite Derek Sholl -who’s song ‘When They Come Back, We Give Back’ is the theme song of Country for our Country.  And we are proud to welcome a new addition this year Chase And The New South.

Reserve your table now with Chelsea Kring at Villa Di Felicita by calling (903) 597-0002 or with David Irwin at (903) 597-9331.
