According to a recent study by two Emory University professors, the Dallas Cowboys have the best fans in the NFL.

Manish Tripathi and Mike Lewis used fifteen years of data including NFL team performance, ticket prices, market populations, median incomes, won-loss records and a few other factors to come up with their final numbers.

Coming in at number 1 on the list, were Dallas Cowboys fans, who spread across the United States like a wild fire. Of course, you have to wonder if the Cowboys were winning or losing at the time of this study.

Seriously, have you seen how fair weathered some of our fans are? Hey, I'm just throwing that out there.

Rounding out the top 5 on the list were the New England Patriots, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets.

Here's how the top 15 break down:

  1. Dallas Cowboys
  2. New England Patriots
  3. New York Giants
  4. Baltimore Ravens
  5. New York Jets
  6. Chicago Bears
  7. Green Bay Packers
  8. New Orleans Saints
  9. Indianapolis Colts
  10. San Francisco 49ers
  11. Philadelphia Eagles
  12. Houston Texans
  13. Denver Broncos
  14. Pittsburgh Steelers
  15. Washington Redskins

Who are the worst fans? The Miami Dolphins appear to have the worst fans of the 32 NFL teams. My guess is that retirement does not have any room for football. Either that, or all the alligators ate the fans.

In any case, I'm just happy to say that the Cowboys have the best fans in the NFL. Of course, being a huge fan myself, I already knew that.

Do you agree with where your favorite team ended up on this list?
