Disney to Continue ‘The Lion King’ Legacy

Everyone’s favorite Disney movie is adding another chapter to its already sterling legacy.

After an 11-year hiatus Disney has decided to revisit the Pride Lands, first making a TV movie called The Lion Guard to air in fall of 2015 and a subsequent TV series of the same name to follow in 2016. The story follows Simba and Nala’s son Kion, who leads a group of friends to protect the African savannah we have all come to know and love.

Even though I am 20 years older from when the original masterpiece debuted, the kid in me is overjoyed the legacy continues. The original Lion King was arguably one of the best in a long line of outstanding Disney movies so this new installment has a lot to live up to but I’m confident it will live up to the hype. Even though it isn’t going to be released for another year plus, I already have it marked in my calendar. No shame.
