East Texas' own Kasey Musgraves has certainly made an impact on country music, so much so, that she will be a guest tonight on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. How about that?!  It's not surprising for all of those who have seen her perform throughout East Texas. It's obvious from the first note, that she has crazy talent, and she has some mad writing skills as well. In fact, she is now a staff songwriter at Warner Chappell Music in Nashville. Pretty impressive.

After signing with several indie labels, Kacey landed with Mercury Nashville and released her successful album, "Same Trailer Different Park," which features her hit single "Merry Go 'Round." Her ability to write music that is original and interesting is why this East Texas native is getting attention, and deservedly so, she has worked hard at her craft.

You can also hear her unique vocals on a lot of country artists records, including the song she actually penned "Mama's Broken Heart," recorded by fellow East Texan, Miranda Lambert. (Kacey actually sings backup on the song.)

Catch this rising star tonight on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" at 10:35 p.m., when she'll sing "Blowin' Smoke." (Set your DVR if that's too late for ya!).
