The Wizard of Oz stills holds a place in your movie collection even after almost 80 years since it's release. But now, the ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland and are on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, are in need of repair and you can help.

Smithsonian National Museum of American History has started a Kickstarter campaign to repair and conserve Dorothy's ruby slippers from "The Wizard of Oz" according to the Washington Post.

They are looking to raise $300,000 to repair the slippers made by the MGM Studio prop department. They want the slippers to be a part of a new exhibition to open in 2018 called "On With The Show".

This is not the first time the Smithsonian has done a campaign like this. Last year, they raised almost $720,000 to do repairs on Neil Armstrong's spacesuit.
