Downtown Tyler Design Committee member, and long-time Downtown volunteer, John O’Sullivan is installing lights on several buildings of the 100 block of East Erwin Street this week.

This will be an expansion of the Downtown Tyler plan to eventually have the entire downtown area covered in holiday lights.

Last year’s project began with one building, and now several others will join this holiday season. There will also be testing of projected laser images during the light installation.

In addition, City of Tyler employees will be installing the chosen Christmas tree for Downtown Tyler. The tree, donated by Bright Star Farms and the Lyle family, will be decorated in anticipation of the Christmas Parade and the 31st Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to be held on Thursday, Dec.1.
