Joshua Neal Holden, 29, is now jailed on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with bonds totaling $200,000. Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested Holden last month on similar charges after his wife and their small children were found hiding in the woods.

Authorities say Lisa Holden fled to the woods after her husband Joshua beat her with a baseball bat breaking both of her legs. Investigators say Lisa stayed in the woods with her children for two days before she was picked up by police. She was taken to a local hospital and the couple’s children were placed in foster care.

Investigators have determined that Holden abused his wife for years and would keep her under lock and key in their home in Ben Wheeler.
