Kacey Musgraves has been thrown into the country genre since she first started making a name for herself. But now she's officially crossed over into the pop world -- at least for one tour with one of the biggest pop stars on the planet.

Katy Perry announced her #PrismaticWorldTour today, and East Texas' own Musgraves will be joining the "ROAR" singer and multi-platinum star on 14 tour stops in North America.

The two played in the same show last year at the "We Can Survive" benefit concert, but now we'll see them together for a large chunk of Perry's major tour. Pop acts Tegan and Sara and Capital Cities are Perry's other two supporting acts throughout the tour.

The tour will be coming to Texas for shows in Dallas (Oct. 2) and Houston (Oct. 10), but Musgraves' last appearance on the tour will be Aug. 31. An opener has not been announced yet for the Houston show, but it's looking like Musgraves won't be making an appearance in her home state on the tour.

Musgraves will certainly add an interesting dimension to Perry's show, and her exposure will only increase after joining one of the biggest names in the musical world. But, this could be where we see Musgraves' role in country music come to an end, or at least join the likes of Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, etc.
