I just had to share this great 'feel good' story with you today! Mr. Melvin Williams and the members of the Masonic Young Hill Lodge #467, donated  funds to CASA Kids of East Texas organization to ensure that many of the foster children in relative placements in the program area will receive the necessary school supplies for the upcoming school year. Awesome!
CASA for Kids of East Texas is a non-profit organization whose mission is to recruit, train, support and monitor community volunteers to advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children as they travel through the state foster care system. The organization works with the children of Smith, Van Zandt and Wood counties in Texas. These youngsters have been removed from their homes by Child Protective Services and placed with a relative, kinship or foster family. This can be a very confusing and traumatic time for them.

I would personally like to salute the dedication and  hard work of the administration and volunteers of CASA Kids of East Texas along with  Mr. Williams and the members of Young Hill Lodge #467, for their generous gift and for taking care of these precious children, who of no fault of their own, find themselves in this tragic situation! CASA, Mr. Williams and the members of the Young Hill Lodge #467 along with other East Texans like them, make East Texas a great place to live.
