The scene was all set:  Whitehouse native & Cleveland Indians pitcher Josh Tomlin got the start for the 6th game of the World Series, in front the friendly Ohio crowd.  A Tribe win & the Indians would become major league baseball’s 2016 champs, a title the team hasn’t captured since 1948.  Unfortunately for Josh, the Chicago Cubs had a different agenda:  to pull out a game 6 win of their own & send the series to a deciding 7th game.  Tomlin got rocked from the very first inning & never got past the start of the 3rd.  Cleveland’s defense didn’t help their pitcher’s cause, with fielding blunders that contributed to the Cubs rocketing to a lead & ultimately winning 9-3.  So it’ll come down to the finale tonight.  If Chicago wins, coming back from a 3 games to 1 deficit will be the lead story, along with finally ending their 108-year championship drought.  If the Indians recover & take the World Series  with a victory, no one on the Cleveland roster will be happier than Josh Tomlin!
