To hit a home run in a Major League baseball game must be an awesome feeling.  Brandon Belt who played his high school ball in Hudson, just west of Lufkin, certainly knows that feeling. But, the homer he hit Friday night in Colorado was something special.

Brandon Belt launched a 2-0 pitch an estimated 475 feet to the upper deck at Coors Field in Denver. Not since 2004 has another Major Leaguer reached that level at that field.

The drive also ranks as one of the top five homers for distance this year. For reference, if Belt had hit that home run at the Hudson High School field, the ball would have landed in the Diboll school district.

Okay...an exaggeration...a big one. But still, what a moon shot it was!
