Excuses for speeding can be far-reaching, but this one's got to be a new one. An East Texas man pulled over after leading police on a high-speed chase said he was doing so because he was on a mission ... to kill the devil.

According to KTRE, Norman Damon Foley, 36, was pulled over by Trinity (Texas) police after reaching speeds of 92 mph. When the police were finally able to get him pulled over, Foley claimed he had the devil trapped in the tree branches in the back of his pickup truck and was headed to "burn the devil."

Police were tipped by Foley's family because he apparently had not been acting normal. Police did, however, perform a field sobriety test on Foley and found that he was not intoxicated.

Foley was arrested and charged for evading arrest with a vehicle.
