We are down to the last week before Christmas and if you're planning to brave the stores with other last minute shoppers, an umbrella should be in your arsenal.

A series of systems is expected to move across East Texas through Friday.  These 'off and on' showers, some with embedded downpours, could produce over 3 inches of rain before all is said and done.  According to the latest analysis, it looks like the biggest rainfall amounts will occur across a swath from the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area eastward to Alexandria to Vicksburg.

The good news is that the weekend looks to be cool and dry, however, we could have a replay of more storm systems next Monday through Wednesday.
