Condemned prisoner Mario Swain is set to die for the slaying of a Longview woman during a break-in a decade ago.

The 33-year-old Swain faces lethal injection tonight in Huntsville for the death of 46-year-old Lola Nixon at her Longview home. Swain led police to the woman’s body, which was dumped in the back seat of an abandoned car

On December 27, 2002, in Gregg County, Texas, Swain broke into a residence with the intent to steal money. While the burglary was in progress, the victim, a forty-four year old white female, returned home. After a struggle, Swain struck the victim in the head with a tire tool and placed her body in the trunk of her car. He transported her body to an abandoned car and placed her in the trunk.
