Excuse me while I attempt to contain myself. Texas' own, and my personal favorite Eli Young Band, has been nominated for THREE Academy of Country Music awards. These guys are up against the biggest names in music in some of the biggest categories.

Reba McEntire announced the nominees this morning via digital press conference. While you have your typical big name stars such as Kenny Chesney, Brad Paiseley and Taylor Swift, one new name is stealing the spotlight. Eli Young Band is nominated for three awards this year, tying Taylor Swift and Toby Keith in nominations. They are nominated for Song Of The Year for their No. 1 hit "Crazy Girl." "Crazy Girl" is also nominated for Single Of The Year. Lastly, the guys are up against the likes of Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts for Vocal Group Of The Year.

Other nominees include Kenny Chesney with nine nominations; Jason Aldean with six; and Lady Antebellum and Brad Paisley each with four. I, just like the rest of Texas Country music fans, am so proud of Eli Young Band for all of their hard work and determination. We have all known how talented they are, and it's about time they get recognized for it. Tune into CBS at 8 p.m. April 1 to support these guys and let them know how proud of them we are. And, maybe if we're lucky, we will get a live performance out of them, too.

Here is the ACM Vocal Group Of The Year nominee, Eli Young Band, with their Song Of The Year and Single Of The Year hit "Crazy Girl."
