Eric Bana to Play the King of Rock and Roll in ‘Elvis & Nixon’

Australian actor Eric Bana will play Elvis Presley in the movie ‘Elvis & Nixon,’ which is based on the 1970 White House meeting between the music legend and the 37th president.
The film will cover the events that were set into motion when Elvis wrote then-President Richard Nixon a six page letter suggesting Nixon make him a “Federal Agent-at-Large” in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. During the subsequent meeting, Elvis famously presented Nixon with a Colt 45 pistol.
Bana, 43, is best known to American audiences for his roles in ‘Munich,’ ‘Funny People’ and as Bruce Banner in 2003′s ‘Hulk.’
‘Elvis & Nixon,’ which doesn’t have a release date, will mark the directorial debut of actor Cary Elwes.
