Five Grossest Foods in the Country – Maybe Not to Some of Us

Thrillist.com came up with a list of the grossest foods from each state in America. I went through this list and found the five that really caught my stomach. A couple of these I would not get within ten feet of but one in particular I want to go the store and pick out the ingredients and make right now.

1. Texas – Deep Fried Butter

I have had this and there is nothing gross about it. Now granted, I could only eat a couple of them but they were quite tasty. Gross…No.

2. Arizona – Mesquite Pods

By themselves, I could probably handle them. But, the fact that they could be home to spiders is an instant “Hell No!”. And that Arizonians would eat these with the spiders inside and say they taste like “organic skittles”. Umm…double “Hell No!”

3. Ohio – Chili Five Way

There has not been a single man that hasn’t tried this, myself included. Basically if you have only spaghetti, chili, cheese and other nacho toppings to cook, there’s your Chili Five Way. Gross…Not really, but not an everyday meal.

4. Minnesota – Pickle Dog

Happy Thanksgiving! #pickledog anyone? #pastrami

I want to try this…today…for lunch. Take a dill pickle and wrap it with sauerkraut, thousand island dressing and roast beef and you’re good to go. State fairs in Minnesota have even turned this into a corn dog. Gross…I will try this and let you know.

5. Utah – Jello Salad

Jello with added fruit is good, Jello with added vegetables does not in any way sound good. Why would anyone think adding tomatoes, olives or carrots to lime jello be appetizing. Gross…I don’t have to try it to know it’s a yes.

See the full list at thrillest.com. Maybe there’s an option or two you would like to try.
