The Tyler Food Truck Park is making progress towards opening, but is still in need of a commercial kitchen partner.

Some of the regulations required by the North East Texas Public Health District initially, were lightened in October. Despite the change, there are still a few more hoops to jump through before the park can open. They hope to open in April 2017.

Commercial kitchens are necessary for the trucks to return to at the end of the day to clean and prepare food. This requirement is standard in most major cities. One thought had by the parks developer was to pair with a community kitchen like the Salvation Army.

"Wouldn't it be a great idea if we could partner with them, if they could rent the space to the food trucks, and then that rental income could go into those community based organizations and go back to helping Tyler?" Carlo D'Angelo, the Tyler Food Truck Park Developer, told KLTV.
