American Idol fans guess what? The first American Idol, Burleson, Texas native Kelly Clarkson, is getting close to surpassing our American Idol country sweetheart,  Carrie Underwood, in singles record sales! We love both of these girls and they have definitely lived up to being American Idols.

According to MSN, Kelly Clarkson is set to score an "American Idol" singles record next week if she can notch up another 50,000 sales of her hit "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)."

The power ballad is currently the second best-selling single from an "Idol" star, behind Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats," with sales of over 3.4 million since its release earlier this year.

Kelly has released her first country single, "Mr. Know It All," which is doing well on the national country charts. Country or Pop, this Texan has chops!

As a matter of fact Kelly is dating Reba McEntire's step son, Brandon Blackstock.  Kelly and Reba have recorded and performed with each other on many occasions.
