Hear George Strait’s New Single, ‘Goin’ Goin’ Gone’
Written by Wyatt Earp and Keith Gattis, "Goin' Goin' Gone" is filled with traditional country instrumentation and finds Strait unwinding after a long week at a job that "might not be the big dream, but I guess I can't complain / It pays the rent, but that's about all that it pays."
"I’m overdue, so throw it on the card / Bartender, keep it open, I’m just getting started," Strait sings in the chorus of "Goin' Goin' Gone." "Come Monday morning, I just might be overdrawn / But it’s Friday night, so I’m goin’, goin’, gone."
"Goin' Goin' Gone" comes from Strait's most recent album, Cold Beer Conversation, released in September of 2015, just days after Strait announced the project while sharing plans for his Las Vegas shows. The record is part of a five-album deal that he signed with longtime label MCA in 2013.
Fans can download "Goin' Goin' Gone" on iTunes now. The song will officially go for adds at country radio on Sept. 26.
Strait's next concerts in Vegas are scheduled for Dec. 2 and Dec. 3, 2016. He will also be performing in Sin City on Feb. 17 and 18, 2017.
