Got Court Fines? Pony Up Or Get Put In The Pokey in Smith County!

KLTV reported on Smith County's 5th annual "Warrant Round-Up" being underway.  Law enforcement is attempting to close outstanding cases where money is still owed for various court fines, typically tied to fees for probation, traffic, & similar minor violations. 

In the 2016 'roundup' Smith County closed more than 500 cases. They are hoping for even more this year.

Nearly 2,000 notices were sent out last week, reminding the named individuals to pay their fines by February 25th, or expect police to come calling with cuffs!

Being hauled out of your house would be embarrassing enough, but imagine trying to explain it if you're nabbed at work.  Be smart - settle up on time so you don't get popped in public!
