Granger Smith is famously a huge supporter of our boys and girls in uniform having made multiple trips overseas to Kuwait and Iraq, he's performed at The White House for former President George W. Bush and even more impressively had a song played in outer-space on a spaceship (who's done that?!?).

I have had the pleasure to meet Granger quite a few times and I know first hand that he does things like this because it is something that he truly believes in.

So it should come as no surprise that this true American Patriot is out to promote his new single 'Sleeping On The Interstate' and brand new album 'Poets And Prisoners' by walking 100 miles in combat boots  starting in South Austin and ending at Fort Hood to perform a show for the soldiers, Granger says

We will try to have various celebs walking parts of each leg of the route -- all of the Texas musicians, promoters, radio DJs, politicians, college athletes, and even soldiers are invited to join the walk.

The walk is set for April 24-28th and the show at Fort Hood the 28th will be open to all soldiers, families, and civilians that present an ID at the gate, but if you're unable to make the trip to Central Texas for this show you'll have plenty of chances to check out Granger's new album right here in East Texas.  He'll be calling in to Radio Texas Live this Saturday and his album release party will be Wednesday April 13th at Electric Cowboy and just an FYI, I am listening to the new album 'Poets & Prisoners' as I type this and you are gonna love this one.  And if that's not enough he will be here on The KNUE Front Porch at 5pm the day of his EC show to perform for some of you listeners.  Keep listening to KNUE to find out how you can get in on that show for free and find out more about his Poets & Prisoners Spring Tour by clicking on it.
