Help! I Need Your Remedy To Get Rid Of A Cold

Flickr

I wish someone somewhere would discover the cure for a cold. I have been battling a cold since Friday, and I’m worn out and tired! Have you noticed whenever you get a cold everybody comes out of the “woodwork” to tell you what you need to do, or take, to get rid of it? It’s all done with love of course, but I’ve found you really just have to “wait it out.” What a bummer!I’ve been told by well-doers that I should be taking NyQuil, BC powder, drinking plenty of fluids, eating vitamin C by the hand full, taking doses of Echinacea, drinking cups of chicken soup, doses of oregano oil, Zinc, drinking hot whiskey and honey (I thought that was for a cough) saying my prayers, etc.

Desperate in my search for some kind of relief, I discovered each year Americans catch more than 1 billion colds, making the cold virus the most common infectious disease in the United States. It’s estimated the average U.S. adult typically has two to four colds each year, while children may have up to 12. The cold is also the  No. 1 reason people visit their physicians, even though your physician can’t really help you out.

Some of the ways doctors believe you can keep the cold virus away include: good sleep and tons of it, regular exercise, making sure you are not deficient in vitamin D, washing your hands (but not too much), avoid antibiotics because it’s a virus not bacterial, and staying away from emotional stress. Well, that’s not helping me out at the moment, but I’ll keep that in mind in the future.

So I’m open to anything you guys suggest, because this cold is a drag. HELP!

Please share your cures with me in the comment section below. If it works, I’ll be indebted to you for sure!
