A hospital nurse in London who was a victim of a much-publicized prank has died.

Hospital officials say the nurse had been fooled by two Australian disc jockeys who called the hospital this week, posing as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles and asking for information on the condition of the Duchess of Cambridge -- who had been hospitalized with severe morning sickness. Police say the death of the nurse is unexplained, but there are unconfirmed reports the death was a suspected suicide.

Audio of the call posted online suggested a receptionist spoke briefly to the DJs, who host a show for the 2Day FM radio station in Sydney, before the call was put through to a nurse.

Scotland Yard has launched an investigation into the nurse’s death.
