Tacos are king for me. But the queen is for sure tamales. And coming this weekend is Tamale Festival Houston.

It starts at noon Saturday, December 2, at Navigation Esplanade in Houston according to chron.com.

Tamale Festival Houston started in 2011 to celebrate the staple of many Hispanic cultures. And honestly, they're just a great food.

The event will feature live music, 40 different types of tamales from vendors across Texas, a tamale eating contest and the best tamales will be crowned.

If tamales are not your thing, you can also pick up tacos, churros and more.

If you're looking for a quick and fun weekend family road trip, tickets are still available at tamalefestivalhouston.com.
