22-year-old country singer Janelle Arthur got one step closer to her dream of music stardom on Thursday night (March 14). The Tennessee resident placed sixth out of the final ten contestants in the results show on 'American Idol' -- meaning she has survived another round.

Arthur has been a favorite of the judges since her audition in Charlotte, singing Keith Urban‘s ‘Where the Blacktop Ends.' Nicki Minaj told her, ”I think you are really, really special, and you already seem like a star.”

This is Arthur’s third season as a contestant on ‘American Idol.’ She made it to Hollywood Week in 2010, and in 2011 she made it to the Las Vegas rounds before being cut. Her only stumbling block this year has been a rocky rendition of the Lady Antebellum hit ‘Just a Kiss.’

Arthur sang the Montgomery Gentry hit 'Gone' on Wednesday, winning her home state of Tennessee with more than 30% of the vote.
